A Session with Jean

photo 1Even on rainy days, the windows opening onto the river are filled with light. Jean greets you with her usual, up-beat energy. She is friendly, energetic, talkative and sets the pace for an easy going, relaxed session.

She asks about how things have been going in general and then specifically about issues or ailments. She then has you lie down on her table as she goes through a series of statements, all the while doing a specific form of muscle checking.

As the facilitator of your body, Jean recognizes your body’s top priorities of distress and determines the best tools to help you. Acting as a conduit between healing and the body, she checks your energy balance throughout the session and helps your body’s natural energy flow to realign itself through intuitive healing.

After some final muscle checking, Jean winds up the session with a “recipe” to follow at home which may include changes in diet, other forms of body work, supplements, movement, or even affirmations to correct long-standing emotional issues.

What is Kinesiology?

photo 3Kinesiology is a holistic system of body balancing that uses muscle checking to identify stresses on the body that can cause disease. These stresses include emotional, nutritional, structural and electrical. Kinesiology lets us look at the body as a sophisticated piece of electrical equipment controlled by a complex computer called the brain. Since the brain is continually in communication with all of the muscles in the body, muscle checking is an effective way to gain accurate information regarding health and disease in the body.
